MATCH PREVIEW:
Valor FC goes on the road for two straight games, starting this Saturday in Calgary and followed up a week later with a visit to Pacific FC.
Heading into Saturday’s action, Winnipeg’s CPL team currently sit fourth in the standings with eight points, but with just five games played. Meanwhile, Pacific, who sit first in the standings with 17 points, have played eight games.
Valor is coming off a 1-0 home win over York United FC last Sunday, a match in which Sean Rea scored the dramatic winner on his birthday in the 87th minute and goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois & Co. recorded their second consecutive clean sheet. in league play.
The club welcomed one of its three international players this week with the arrival of Chilean striker Walter Ponce, but he is not likely to be considered for minutes until next week’s game in Victoria.
Valor will be home again on Wednesday, June 1 against Atlético Ottawa, the first of three at IG Field, followed by games against FC Edmonton on June 5 and the Cavalry on June 15.

“Good team. Experienced team. They don’t make many mistakes and they defend well together, and they have tools that can hurt you in transition, but also when they have possession.
“It’s a team that makes set pieces very well. They have been very dangerous in that and it is something that we will have to be very careful with over the weekend. We’ve been good too, and we haven’t conceded yet this year (from set pieces), so that’s a good thing. We have to make sure we don’t give them anything and don’t make mistakes.”
