Regina Man Faces Kidnapping and Assault Charges After SWAT Investigation – Regina | The Canadian News

A 36-year-old man faces multiple charges including kidnapping and extortion after a SWAT police operation Saturday night.

The investigation took place in the 1000 block of McTavish Street.

Harold Hanson was detained by SWAT members around 8:30 p.m.

Hanson has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

In addition to the new charges, Hanson had outstanding warrants for his arrest: being illegally at large across Canada; recklessly firing a firearm; and possession of a firearm contrary to the prohibition order.

Hanson will appear in court for the first time on these charges Monday morning.
