Regina man arrested after allegedly robbing a taxi – Regina | The Canadian News

A 19-year-old Regina man faces robbery charges in connection with an incident Friday morning.

Desmond Key is also charged with fleeing the police, operating dangerous public transportation, and failing to comply with a condition of a release order.

Police say they were called to the 1100 block of Angus Street after a man was reported trying to get into multiple vehicles.

When officers arrived on the scene, they said they saw Key assault a taxi driver. Then he stole the taxi and left.

Police say the taxi driver was not seriously injured.

Police tried to stop the vehicle but did not stop.

Then the vehicle hit a fence and police say Key tried to flee.

He was subsequently arrested without further incident.
