Reader’s Letter: Stop trying to mess up the riverbank

Article content

It’s shocking to read our city council’s plans for the riverbank.

Article content

The riverside is a special place to be, not to visit things.

We need restrooms, we need light snacks (eg ice cream, soft drinks), we need space for recreation.

But the riverside is a destination in itself and should not be crowded with commercial establishments, museums, stadiums or music venues, etc. These can be placed anywhere else in this city, but please keep the park as a park.

If you want to have the river view with these features, place them on the other side of Riverside Drive.

Your job as a city council is to provide services, roads, police, etc. for our residents. Focus on taking care of your residents or they will continue to move to the suburbs and other neighboring cities.
