Reader’s letter: it’s time for life to return to normal

Once again, health bureaucrats are floating around renewed COVID-19 restrictions and capacity limits.

Almost two years after this pandemic and the only plan seems to be recurring and perpetual limits and restrictions.

Forget about expanding hospital capacity, it would make too much sense.

The reality is that there will never be COVID zero. It’s here to stay, and vaccination rates are unlikely to improve much.

Those who chose not to get vaccinated are already restricted from most social activities and will no longer be swayed to take the hit by subduing those who have complied with even more restrictions.

There doesn’t seem to be an end here. We vaccinate to protect ourselves and the vulnerable against this disease with the promise of a return to normal, yet bureaucrats and the government always seem to bring a full return to normal only a few months later.

Then once again he is interrupted by the shouts of health officials to roll back freedoms a few weeks after his reinstatement.

Enough is enough. The vast majority of us did our part and got vaccinated. It’s time for us to get back to normal.
