Raptors game against Bulls tonight postponed with Toronto roster ravaged by COVID

The Raptors, devastated by COVID, have postponed another NBA game.

The league announced that Wednesday night’s Toronto-Chicago game has become the ninth postponed in the past two weeks as the coronavirus continues to wreak havoc.

OG Anunoby became the eighth Toronto player to be subjected to the league’s health and safety protocols, according to an ESPN report. He joins Pascal Siakam, Dalano Banton, Gary Trent Jr., Precious Achiuwa, Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes, and Malachi Flynn on the list.

Toronto has three others (Justin Champagnie, Khem Birch and David Johnson) out with injury or illness and Goran Dragic remains out of the team. They’ve been trying to sign another five 10-day deals under the new NBA emergency roster assignments, but signing them, being clear about COVID testing requirements, and getting time to play was impossible.

Wednesday’s postponement is Toronto’s third this season. The first two games, last week at home to Chicago and Monday against Orlando, were postponed when neither the Bulls nor the Magic were able to field even eight-man teams.

Toronto’s next scheduled game is December 26 in Cleveland.

OG Anunoby (3) is reportedly the Raptors' last starter on COVID-19 protocols ahead of tonight's now-postponed game against the Bulls.
