Querétaro will capture 315 million pesos per harvest season


Queretaro, Qro. During the 2022 harvest season, which will take place in the second half of the year, 25 wineries in the state will participate.

The attendance of 350,000 visitors is expected, which will lead to an economic benefit of close to 315 million pesos.

The secretary of the Querétaro Wine Cluster, Eugenio Parrodi, specified that this will be the first year in which the harvest season is consolidated as a tourist product of the entity.

The season will start on June 25 and end on November 20. This year, 25 vintages are scheduled, an increase of 78.6% compared to the 14 that took place in 2019, before the effects of the pandemic.

An average consumption of 900 pesos per traveler is expected, estimated the owner of the Tierra de Alonso vineyard, Fernando Alonso Fernández.

The Secretary of Tourism of the state, Mariela Morán Ocampo, specified that the Querétaro wine region is concentrated in seven of the 18 municipalities, which brings together 600 hectares of vineyards, in addition to 300 labels.

According to the secretary of the cluster, in the last three years the state increased the number of wine labels produced in the entity from 230 to more than 300.
