Queretaro, Qro. On safety matter, Queretaro should be on the lookout for crimes like extortion and the highway robberystated the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, during his visit to the entity.
In the case of Queretaro, he stressed, there is good coordination between federal, state and municipal authorities; he added that the priority is the fight against insecurity.
“Federal government, state government, municipal governments, in the case of Querétaro, we work in a coordinated manner, there is communication and collaboration between government agencies and, of course, combating insecurity is a priority task,” he pronounced.
In this context, the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of MexicoRosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, held a meeting with the governor, Mauricio Kuri González, and state businessmen.
During the meeting, they recognized and supported the management of the head of the Executive Power of the state, the state government highlighted in a press release.
“Querétaro is not alone, the governor has all our support, our backing, that we work very coordinated with him, very hand in hand (…) congratulations really, you always have to go with courage, Querétaro is ahead, but it has to continue to grow, you have to continue to consolidate, you are a national benchmark and we have to do everything to keep it working that way”, he declared.
Meanwhile, he urged the population not to fall into disinformation, which only causes fear and chaos in the citizenry.
Rodríguez Velázquez presented a diagnosis of the fight against crime at the national level, reiterated his support for the Querétaro government to remain one of the safest, most innovative and thriving entities in the country.
“Here in Querétaro we work hand in hand with the governor and with the Secretary of Security, and we have contributed with perseverance and daily actions so that this state continues to be an example in terms of security. Querétaro is an example in terms of security, that is why we always congratulate the local authorities headed by the governor”, he declared.
In this regard, Mauricio Kuri endorsed his commitment to local businessmen, to whom he offered the accompaniment of his administration, as well as permanent dialogue tables.
“The challenges are very big, but I am sure that with the support of the federal government and especially with the support of citizens to Queretaro We are going to take it to the next level,” he said.
Drinking water
Regarding the publication of the Law that regulates the provision of drinking water, sewage and sanitation services in Queretaro -which has been rejected by civil society and specialists-, the Secretary of the Interior avoided setting a position on the matter.
“We are respectful of the autonomous actions of Querétaro, of the government, of its Congress, we are respectful of the decisions made by the Legislative Power,” he declared.
