“The tests will be distributed as we receive them, but may not be available in all pharmacies in the first days of deployment,” said Benoit Morin, president of the Association québécoise des pharmaciens propriétaires (AQPP).

“Participating pharmacies will be continually restocked in the coming weeks depending on supply from the federal government. To ensure the successful deployment of this initiative, we will need everyone’s support ”.

The AQPP said:

  • People should not show up or call a pharmacy before December 20 to get tested.
  • People should avoid calling the pharmacy lab. Instead, listen to the greeting voicemail or check your pharmacy’s website or social media for specific procedures or stock status. Each pharmacist will organize the distribution according to availability.
  • People should not go to the pharmacy if they have symptoms. The goal is to get screened before you show symptoms.
  • People who have a regular pharmacy where their name is registered should go there first.
  • People must present a health card to collect the evidence.
