Quebec City police arrest suspect in connection with more than 40 burglaries


A search of the suspect’s home yielded multiple items reported stolen over the course of several break-ins, police said.

A 50-year-old resident of Baie-St-Paul is facing charges in connection with more than 40 burglaries in the Quebec City area, local police announced on Monday.

Martin Poulin was arrested by Sûreté du Québec officers after the provincial force collaborated with Quebec City police to investigate a series of similar breaking-and-entering cases in and around the provincial capital.

Poulin appeared in court on Sunday to face charges of theft and possession of stolen goods. He remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

A search warrant executed at Poulin’s home yielded multiple items reported as stolen following several burglaries, police said.
