Puebla re-decrees the mandatory use of the face mask

Puebla, Pue. Due to the rise of Covid-19 infections, the state government ordered that the use of face masks in closed and open spaces will once again be mandatory when there is a high concentration of people; however, the capacity in shops and other types of establishments will not be reduced.

Ana Lucia Hill Mayoral, head of the Secretary of the Interior State, indicated that it will be the only measure to which it will return to deal with the wave of infections, hoping not to have to apply other provisions or that the ones that existed previously will be resumed, such as limiting economic activities in capacity and hours.

In the case of events with more than 300 people, the validation of the health protocol by the State Civil Protection is required, which is obtained through a QR code.

State authorities urged citizens not to fail to comply with the basics of hand hygiene, use antibacterial gel and keep a healthy distance.

In this regard, the president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), Carlos Azomoza, commented that they will abide by the provisions announced by the state government to reduce infections.

However, he asked not to implement more drastic measures that imply affecting the activities of the companies, because it would not be good when the economy is having a gradual recovery.

The president of Merchants of the Historic Center, José Juan Ayala Vázquez, said that the establishments in the area never stopped demanding the mask to enter any business, despite the disposition of the authorities.

He indicated that the increase in infections should concern the Private Initiative and for the same reason it is necessary that they establish their own sanitary measures, but that they are not detrimental to their sales.

He recalled that 250 of the 1,800 businesses he represents were unable to reactivate activities due to the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
