Price hike due to pandemic, not Biden’s policies: White House adviser

The economic advisor of the White House, Brian Deese, said that the increase in prices is a global problem derived from the coronavirus pandemic and it is not a result of the president’s policies Joe Biden.

Deese, director of the White House National Economic Councilhe said on the show “State of the Union“from CNN that he and other members of the Biden administration were not wrong in saying earlier that inflation would be a short-term problem.

“No, I don’t think so (that we are wrong). I think what we have consistently said is that the pandemic and the economy are interrelated,” he said.

Deese defended the Biden administration’s policies on several Sunday TV news shows, after consumer prices in USA accelerated in October as Americans paid more for gasoline and food, causing the biggest annual increase in 31 years.

“There is no doubt that inflation is high right now. It is affecting the pockets of Americans. It is affecting their prospects,” he said on the show.Meet the Press“from NBC.

“But it is important that we put this in context. When the president took office, we were facing a total economic crisis,” he emphasized.
