Prevent economic imbalance, vital in the salary increase agreement: Labor Congress

Negotiations on the increase in minimum wages must be agreed within a framework of consensus that responds to the just demand of the workers. The economic imbalance that is vital in the agreement of the next salary increase must be prevented, said the vice president of the Labor Congress, Víctor Flores Morales.

He pointed out that at the moment what is being observed is a gradual recovery of both the national production plant and employment, after 19 months of the pandemic. For this reason, it is important that the negotiations also have as a priority to maintain the validity of the companies, whether they are micro, small, medium and large.

Since last November 25, the plenary session of representatives of the National Commission of Minimum Wages and there are two proposals that were formally presented. The first, by consensus of the labor sector with a demand of 25%; and the second of the Coparmex, which seeks an increase to the minimum of 8% plus an Independent Recovery Amount of up to 19 pesos.

Interviewed in this regard, moments before the tribute that the plenary session of Labor Congress leaders paid this day to the leader of the Confederation of Workers, Peasants and Employees of Mexico (COCEM), José Luis Moreno Vélez, also the National Secretary of the Union of Railroad Workers, maintained that the existing unity among the more than 50 federations, confederations and national unions that groups together the CT, is essential to advance in the new salary agreements, but also to show an organized labor movement,

On the other hand, at the meeting of the union leaders of the Labor Congress, Moreno Vélez was recognized for more than 60 years of union work from the COCEM; where, Francisco Grajales Palacios of the STFRM said that he is an example for the new generations in the union world, always in search of labor rights.
