The People’s Party of Canada expelled the head of a southern Ontario riding association in the wake of the gravel-throwing incident involving Justin Trudeau.

In an email sent to Global News, party spokesman Martin Masse said that Shane Marshall, the chairman of the party’s Elgin Middlesex London riding association, is no longer part of the People’s Party of Canada.

His impeachment comes amid allegations that he dumped gravel at the Liberal leader during a campaign stop in London, Ontario on Monday. Global News has contacted Marshall for comment.

Meanwhile, the local police are investigating the incident.

“The London Police are aware of an incident that occurred on 6 September during a visit to London by Prime Minister Trudeau, as well as other elected officials, in which stones were thrown and hit some participants. LPS has started an investigation into this matter, ”a spokesperson said in a previous email.

While at a campaign stop Tuesday, Trudeau said he was not injured during the incident.

However, he reaffirmed that the “anti-vaccine mobs” will not prevent him from campaigning in person for these elections.

“No one should be doing their job under threats of violence or acts that put them in danger. That is absolutely unacceptable, ”he said.

“This is not how we do things in Canada, and frankly, as I continue the campaign, I am inspired by those people who continue to do the right thing in the face of anti-vaccine mobs, who do not respect the basic science and basic decency that Canadians they have come to expect rightly. “
