Police work to identify wanted man after stabbing in downtown Toronto – Toronto | The Canadian News

Toronto police are looking to the public for help identifying a wanted man after a downtown stabbing over the weekend.

Police said officers were called to the Yonge and Front streets area at 1:30 am Sunday to receive reports of a stabbing.

A man reportedly approached a group of people and stabbed another before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect headed east on Front Street and possibly north on Scott Street.

Officers described him as 5-foot-10, in his mid-30s with a medium build, scruffy beard and curly black hair. He was reportedly last seen wearing a construction harness and vest, baggy clothing and a backpack.

Investigators said they believe there may be witnesses in the area at the time of the stabbing.
