Traffic was blocked and police tactical teams moved into a downtown Edmonton neighborhood late Friday morning.
Edmonton police said downtown division officers responded to a gun report in the 95th Street and 109A / 110 avenues area earlier in the morning.
Traffic was then blocked on 95th Street in that part of the McCauley neighborhood and members of the tactical team also arrived.
Shortly before 1 p.m., a police spokesman said members were trying to get residents out of a home in the area.
95% of the Edmonton Police Service will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by November 30.
At press time, EPS said the situation was ongoing and no further details were available.
