Police reveal identity of man killed in Edmonton community room, say he was shot to death – Edmonton | The Canadian News

Police confirmed Friday afternoon that a man killed in a community room in south Edmonton last month was shot and killed.

In a press release, police said an autopsy determined 22-year-old Hamza Mohamed died of a gunshot wound and was the victim of a homicide on August 29.

At about 4 a.m. that morning, police said officers were called to report a shooting at Duggan Community Hall. Mohamed was found dead inside the building when officers arrived. Six other men were injured in the shooting and were taken to hospital, although police later said all of those victims were expected to survive.

Earlier this month, police announced that 32-year-old Abdullahi Yalahow was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case and 37-year-old Christopher Wilson was charged with second-degree murder.
