Police find double murder followed by suicide in Gatineau

The man and the two children were found dead on Wednesday in the Aylmer area.

Following expert opinions and autopsies, the Gatineau Police Service (SPVG) said Thursday that it had determined that it was a double murder followed by suicide.

Police said the girls were aged 3 and 5. Their bodies showed no signs of violence, it was said.

The father of the victims was 51 years old.

The SPVG said it had collaborated with the efforts of its partners in the schools and early childhood centers frequented by the victims to ensure that crisis units were set up.

It was a call for “a well-being check”, Wednesday shortly after 2:00 p.m., which led the police to this macabre discovery inside a residence located on rue de Dunkerque in the Le Plateau sector. . The deaths were noted at the scene.
