Police chase: a man driving a stolen truck is arrested

A man was arrested after a police chase that ended near Ruisseau Road in the Beaconsfield borough of Montreal on Saturday.

It was around 2 p.m. that patrol officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) saw, on Highway 40, a man aboard a truck reported stolen by the Montreal Police Service ( SPVM) a little earlier in the day on Sunday.

The driver would have stopped at the height of the Boulevard des Sources before resuming the flight, indicated the spokesperson for the SQ, Marité Bolduc.

After a few minutes of searching the area, the individual was spotted. A lawsuit was therefore initiated.

“The arrest was made by SPVM police officers who came as reinforcements,” added Ms. Bolduc.

The man in his 50s could face charges of unlawful resale over $5,000, assault with a weapon, absconding and dangerous driving.
