‘Please help us find him,’ urges the family of the missing 81-year-old Mississauga – Toronto | The Canadian News

 

Peel Regional Police say they are asking for the public’s help in locating an 81-year-old missing Mississauga man.

Police said Ignatio Viana was last seen around 10 a.m. on Sept. 17 at a residence near Erin Mills Parkway and Folkway Drive.

He is described as one and a half meters tall, weighs 175 pounds, is slim, and has short, wavy hair.

He was last seen wearing an orange and yellow cycling jersey, black cycling shorts, black cycling shoes, black cycling gloves, and a blue and white helmet.

The man’s family launched an emotional plea for the public’s help in finding Viana.

“If anyone has seen it, or thinks they saw or saw it, please call the Peel Regional Police,” his niece can be heard saying in a video released by investigators.

“We are desperate, we are devastated. We’ve been trying to catch him, ”he continued.

His niece described him as “physically strong” and “not the typical senior you’d think at 81”.

She said that Viano rides every day, up to 50 km per day. She said that he was cycling that morning and was supposed to visit her in the afternoon, but did not return home.

He also said that he speaks Spanish and a little English.
