Petrobras president resigns after new criticism from Bolsonaro for price hike


The president of the Brazilian state oil company Petrobras, Joseph Mauro Coelhowho had already been dismissed by Jair Bolsonaro but he remained in office, he resigned this Monday, after new adjustments to the rise in fuel prices that infuriated the Brazilian president.

“Petrobras informs that Mr. José Mauro Coelho requested the resignation of the position this morning (June 20),” the company said in a statement. The oil company reported that the board of directors “will examine” the appointment of an interim president.
