Pemex expects to reduce crude exports to 435,000 barrels per day in 2022

Mexican oil (Pemex) expects to export only 435,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude in 2022, its director said on Tuesday, Octavio Romero, as the company allocates more oil to refining.

The estimate is well below what was planned in the budget approved by the Chamber of Deputies for next year, of 979,000 bpd and the average of around 1.0 million bpd exported until November 2021.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador He has said that one of the goals of his administration is to achieve self-sufficiency in the gasoline production and reduce the country’s large imports.
