A man is in critical condition after a hit and run in Spruce Grove on Friday morning.

Parkland RCMP received a report of a vehicle stolen from a home in the Springwood Way area around 7:28 a.m. A man from the residence followed the stolen vehicle before the driver of the stolen Ford Edge struck the man with the vehicle in the Jennifer Heil Way and Spruce Ridge Road area.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The stolen red 2010 Ford Edge fled the scene and was last seen heading east by Hawthorne Gate.

Mounts are looking for witnesses with information or dash cam footage of the incident and are asking drivers to review dash cam footage between 7:41 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. on Sept. 24. RCMP said the vehicle has an Alberta license plate of CCJ9615.

Traffic is redirected as an RCMP collision analyst assists with the ongoing investigation.
