Pedestrian dies after being hit by train in St-Bruno-de-Montarville

Longueuil police are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck Monday night by a train in St-Bruno-de-Montarville.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Seigneurial W. and Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Blvds. Around 6 in the afternoon. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

“A perimeter has been established and investigators are trying to determine the exact causes of the event,” Longueuil police said in a Facebook post.

They are asking motorists to avoid the area while the investigation continues, noting that St-Bruno-de-Montarville is not accessible via Highway 116 “for an indefinite period.”
