A former owner of a popular Vancouver metro restaurant died of COVID-19. John Caroll started the iconic Charlie Don’t Surf on Marine Drive in White Rock in 1985. A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page says Caroll “lost a tough battle” with the disease on October 7.
