Ottawa Public Health COVID-19 Screening Tool Out of Service on First Day of School – Ottawa | The Canadian News

Ottawa Public Health says its COVID-19 screening tool is available the first morning back to school for most of the city’s children.

Parents took to social media Thursday morning with complaints that the assessment tool was slow or not working as Ottawa-Carleton District School Board children prepared to return to school.

OPH confirmed to Global News that the tool was not working Thursday in a statement.

The local health unit encouraged parents to use the provincial assessment tool while working on a solution.

Parents have been told to screen their children for symptoms every day before sending them to school amid the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

More to come.
