Federal elected officials agreed to end the parliamentary session on Thursday afternoon, wishing each other in turn a great vacation before preparing for a return to the House scheduled for September 19.

The last vote before adjournment was on Bill C-21, which seeks to end the market for handguns. Members decided to pass it at second reading and send it to committee.
