Ottawa creates a measure to “reduce” the delays in obtaining a passport


Ottawa announced Friday the creation of an intervention group with the aim of improving services related to obtaining a passport in Canada.

“We know that service delays, especially over the past few months, are unacceptable. (…) This new task force will help guide the government’s work to better meet the changing needs of Canadians,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement.

Composed of members of the Council of Ministers, this action group will aim, among other things, to reduce waiting times while formulating recommendations.
