Ottawa BlackJacks bring back forward Tyrell Green

The Ottawa BlackJacks have re-signed Canadian forward Tyrell Green ahead of the Canadian Elite Basketball League season.

A 6-foot-7 forward from Toronto, Green has averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 108 games as a pro, competing in Scotland, Canada, Finland, Hungary, Luxembourg and Sweden.

Green played 15 games with the BlackJacks last season, averaging 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. During the CEBL Championship semi-final against Edmonton, he contributed 15 points, including four triples. Most recently, Green played five games with the Glasgow Rocks in the British Basketball League and averaged 11.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Prior to joining the BlackJacks, Green played in the 2020 CEBL Summer Series for the Guelph Nighthawks, where he averaged 10.3 points and 3.0 rebounds. The 26-year-old has represented Canada on multiple occasions, including one game for the senior men’s national team in 2020 during a FIBA ​​AmeriCup qualifying game against Dominican Republic.

Green played two seasons for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, where he averaged 9.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in 39 collegiate games. The BlackJacks’ 20-game regular season will open May 25 with a home game vs. Fraser Valley.
