OPP charge controller after Essex accident

The Essex OPP indicted one person and issued a license suspension following an accident in Essex on Thursday night.

Police responded around 10:30 p.m. Thursday to a car accident on Laird Avenue. Officers conducted a roadside screening test, and one person was subsequently arrested.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

A 23-year-old Essex man was charged with driving while intoxicated. The individual’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days, and he will appear in court at a later date.

Police remind all drivers that if they suspect someone is driving while intoxicated, they should immediately contact 911 to report the vehicle to the police.
