INSPIRACIÓN The group that will travel to space / @ inspiration4x
Although the conquest of space represented a battlefield during the Cold War, the truth is that today that desire for the space race has moved to the realm of great billionaires such as Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos who last July showed their Advances in the matter by carrying out two manned flights lasting a few minutes, but with the same emotion that this type of feat produces in all of us.
Elon Musk could not be left out and that is how I recently learned about his commitment to this space trend through his company SpaceX. Inspiration 4 will be the largest civilian mission to space whose launch is scheduled for September 15 and the concept is that each of the crew represents four pillars that for me are wonderful: Leadership, Generosity, Hope and Prosperity.
The crew consists of Mission Commander Jared Isaacman, Mission Pilot Dr. Sian Proctor, Medical Officer Hayley Arceneaux (cancer survivor), and Mission Specialist Chris Sembroski.
Without the intention of spoiling, I invite you to watch the documentary on Netflix called Countdown, where they narrate in great detail the life stories of each of the crew members and how the points ended up coming together to be part of this unimaginable adventure in which they will be in orbit around the Earth for three days.
I was especially struck by the story of the mission leader Jared, who in the documentary tells how, since he was a child, he had the conviction that he would go to space. Although he did not study aerospace engineering or work for NASA, he dedicated himself to being a successful entrepreneur in terms of technology for payments (nothing to do with his dream) while in parallel he trained as a pilot of how much artifact could fly.
But it was precisely his performance as an entrepreneur that put him in the right place to access SpaceX (as a supplier) and put himself at the command in case of any mission, which has meant that today he is representing leadership in the four pillars of Inspiration 4. .
There is a lot we can learn from Jared: conviction in our dreams, trusting that in the end the dots come together, never stop preparing for when the opportunity presents itself, and propose what we want without fear of rejection.
