Ontario Reports 8,825 New COVID-19 Cases

Ontario reported 8,825 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a slight drop from Monday’s report of 9,418 cases.

Ontario administered more than 144,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, for a total of 26,639,237 doses, Health Minister Christine Elliott said in a tweet Tuesday.

Approximately 90.7 percent of Ontario residents age 12 and older have received one dose and 88 percent have received two doses.

Elliott said there are 491 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in the province, including 184 intensive care patients.

The Ontario Hospital Association tweeted Tuesday that Critical Care Services Ontario reports 104 patients are ventilated and the seven-day moving average of patients in intensive care is 169.
