With the aim of speeding up the Master Plan to modernize Puerto Colombiaa multi-year project is contemplated that begins with the rehabilitation of state highway 1, and the rights of way are already held to tender the La Gloria Colombia highway, with investments of 5,000 million pesosaffirmed Marco González Valdez, Secretary of Regional Development and State Agriculture.
“First we talked about the rehabilitation of state highway 1 (connects with the area of Colombia, Nuevo León), and on the La Gloria-Colombia Highway we are going to start from scratch, we already have the rights of way”, later the tenders will be held through the Ministry of Mobility, as the rights of way are released,” the official explained to the press.

For the first time the road lines are contemplated in the budget of State Expenditures, where it includes the Interserrana highway and the Gloria-Colombia, before the projects came in a common bag, he deepened.

He explained that they are already processing the permits with Civil Aviation, and they already have authorization, however they are still negotiating with the owners of the land, and it is expected that in 2024 they will be able to make the arrangements to build the runway.

On the other hand, Marco González stressed that Nuevo León was the first state to negotiate with the governor of Texas, Gregory Abbott, to avoid the double review of cargo transportation, due to the effects on vegetable exporters.
“We gave certainty (to the governor of Texas) that here (in Colombia) there is no issue of migration or human trafficking, because there is no population nearby, and the migra sees you,” said the official.
