A search was completed on a home in North Battleford, Sask. and Jason Schmidt was arrested, the RCMP said. The 49-year-old man faces charges for possession of child pornography and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
The defendant was released under various conditions. Schmidt is expected to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on January 24, 2022.
The investigation continues.
“The RCMP would like to remind parents to be aware of their children’s online presence and who they can contact,” the press release states.
“Anyone who believes that their child may be the victim of an online predator can call their local RCMP detachment or the police service.”
