New Test of COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement in Waterloo Region Starts Wednesday | The Canadian News

Starting Wednesday, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to enter a number of facilities in the Waterloo region, as required by the Ontario government.

The list of facilities includes restaurants, meeting spaces, sports and recreational facilities, concerts, music festivals, theaters and some municipal facilities.

“The province’s vaccine certificate program is an important tool to help limit the impacts of COVID-19 as we strive to return to a more normal life during the fourth wave and beyond,” stated Kitchener Mayor Berry. Vrbanovic.

The municipalities of the area indicate that proof of vaccination will be required when people visit recreation centers, community centers, town halls, swimming pools and stadiums, as well as other facilities.

Residents must use a sheet of paper or an electronic copy until October 21, when the province will issue a QR code.

The list of exceptions includes those under the age of 12 and those under 18 who play organized sports, as well as coaches, officials and volunteers, those with a medical exception and those who access critical services.

Kitchener advises visitors to its facility to add more time before the screening visit.
