First part of the fourth season of Strange thingsthe new mike myers comedy The Pentaverate, the World War II spy drama directed by Colin Firth Operation hash and a television adaptation of the Michael Connelly novels The Lincoln Lawyer are among the most anticipated titles coming to Netflix this May.
Debuting May 10, Operation hash sees Firth star opposite Matthew MacFadyen as Ewen Montagu and Charles Cholmondeley, respectively, two British intelligence officers who hatch an impossible plan. Based on true events, the duo plan to release a corpse with false documents attached into the sea in an attempt to mislead Nazi forces and give the Allies an advantage in the war. The film also stars Kelly Macdonald, Johnny Flynn, Penelope Wilton, and Jason Isaacs.
May will also see the premiere of the comedy from Rebel Wilson. Last year on May 13. The directorial debut of Alex Hardcastle, the film stars Wilson as Stephanie Conway, a 2002 high school cheerleader who falls off a pyramid of joy, injuring her head and slipping into a coma before her prom. When she wakes up 20 years after her, she looks to live out her senior year of high school, now as a 37-year-old woman on a mission to become prom queen.
Other original movies coming to Netflix this month include Fusion: Three Mile Islanda document to be released on May 5 from the acclaimed producers of Erin Brockovich about the near-catastrophe at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania, as well as A Perfect Pairinga romantic comedy, starring Victoria Justice and Adam Demos, about a Los Angeles wine company executive who travels to Australia to work as a ranch hand and finds love.
Library titles coming to Netflix in May include 42, A River Runs Through It, Corpse Bride, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Jackass: The Movie, Forrest Gump, Rambo, The Lake House Y when harry met sally.
Netflix’s new original TV release on the streamer in May includes the highly anticipated first batch of episodes for Strange things the fourth season, which premieres on May 27. The series picks up six months after the Battle of Starcourt, as the core group of Eleven, Mike and others struggle with the aftermath. Separated for the first time, they must face the most terrifying entity to emerge from The Upside Down as they navigate the complexities of high school.
On the television front, Mike Myers returns with his new comedy The Pentaveratea spin-off of the actor’s 1993 black comedy So I married an ax murderer. On May 5, the series proposes that a secret society of five men has been “working to influence world events for the common good since the Black Death of 1347.” Myers plays, among other characters, Canadian reporter Ken Scarborough, a man tasked with saving the world and the group from a dangerous insider threat.
Other TV Originals set to drop on the streamer in May include the TV adaptation of Michael Connelly’s bestseller Lincoln Lawyer, hit reality game The circle’s fourth season, the debut season of the American version love on the spectrumthe last baby boss entry back in the cribthe third volume of the animated anthology by Tim Miller and David Fincher Love, death and robots, and the sophomore race ostentatious empirewhich follows the beloved “super rich” Asians of Los Angeles.
