More than 40,000 Catalan students appear for the post-pandemic selectivity

A total of 40,557 Catalan students As of this Tuesday, they will carry out the university entrance exams (PAU), the dreaded selectivity. This year, after the emergency phase caused by the coronavirus pandemic has passed, the exams recover the three-day format (June 14, 15 and 16) instead of the four of the ‘covid stage’. The use of face mask It is not mandatory but, given that the tests are carried out in closed spaces with a large number of people concentrated, the health authorities have recommended that students wear the mask for the duration of the exam, both inside the classroom and when accessing it and in the hallways.

At the academic level, the adaptations agreed in the 2020 call are maintained, which make the optional in the choice of questions by the student. The Department of Universities justifies this measure, adopted during the pandemic, because given that at the beginning of this academic year 21-22 there were still covid measures in educational centers and it was not known in what health context the PAUs would take place, it has been decided to maintain this system so as not to change the rules of the game. Students have detailed information on flexibility in each subject in the University Channel.

A novelty in this edition is that students must fill out an anonymous form before starting the tests, specifying in what idiom want to take the exams: Catalan, Spanish or Aranese. In this edition, there 207 courts distributed throughout Catalonia, most of them on university campuses of the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Girona, the University of Lleida and the Rovira i Virgili University, as well as in some institutes where other years have taken PAU exams.
