Montreal’s Historic Super Sexe Strip Club Destroyed in Alleged Arson – Police | The Canadian News

The well-known downtown Montreal strip club, Super Sexe, was destroyed in a large fire that police suspect is a crime.

Firefighters were called to the building on Saint-Catherine Street near the Robert-Bourassa intersection Saturday night around 11 p.m. to put out the fire at one of Montreal’s oldest strip clubs.

Authorities say the building was empty and no injuries have been reported. The neighboring buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

Police spokesman Const. Raphael Bergeron told Global News that the investigation into the cause of the fire has been transferred to the arson unit.

Authorities say the damage to the building is extensive.

Club Super Sexe has been in business since 1978 and its outdoor neon sign has long been considered an icon in downtown Montreal.
