Montrealer Félix Auger-Aliassime ousted from Estoril Open

ESTORIL, Portugal — Montrealer Félix Auger-Aliassime was defeated in the quarter-finals of the Estoril Open on Friday.

Auger-Aliassime lost in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to American Sebastian Korda.

Auger-Aliassime, the top-seed of the ATP 250 clay-court tournament, struggled to stay out of trouble and Korda, the eighth seed, took advantage.

Korda had 11 break chances during the game and he managed to take five of them. The American faced three break points and saved two.

Auger-Aliassime won only 48 per cent of his points on serve and 38 per cent of his points on return, while Korda won 62 per cent of her points on serve and 52 per cent of her points on return.

Korda will now face compatriot Frances Tiafoe in the semifinals.
