The victim, in his 50s, was shot in the lower body shortly before 11:00 p.m. They took her to the hospital, but her injury is not life-threatening.

At the moment, the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) cannot say whether this woman was the victim of a stray bullet.

“It is difficult to explain, at the moment, why the lady was attacked. Is it a random shot? Was it the objective of the residence in question? Was the person the target? All that remains to be determined, ”said agent Raphaël Bergeron, SPVM spokesman.

All scenarios are being examined.

“Obviously, the investigators will verify if there were surveillance cameras that were not far from the place to have images of the suspects in this file,” specified agent Bergeron.

The victim told police that she has no idea why someone would attack her.

The SPVM investigation continues.
