Montreal Old Port Ferris Wheel Employee Dies On The Job Under Unclear Circumstances – Montreal | The Canadian News

A 22-year-old man who was caught working on the Ferris wheel in Montreal’s Old Port on Christmas Day died.

Mathieu Filion, a spokesperson for Montreal’s La Grande Roue who confirmed the death on Sunday, says details about the worker and the accident will not be shared until the investigation is complete.

Emergency services were called to the Montreal Old Port Ferris wheel around noon Saturday following reports of an injury.

The man was taken to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.

Montreal police say the Quebec workplace safety board will investigate the death.

Filion says the Ferris wheel will be closed until further notice.
