The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) dismantled a major amphetamine production and distribution network on Wednesday morning.

Twenty searches were carried out in Greater Montreal and several other regions of Quebec, said the SPVM.
This crackdown is made possible thanks to an investigation launched last September by the Antigang team of the SPVM’s organized crime division.
“Amphetamines are synthetic drugs that are particularly popular with young people,” said the Montreal police.
The SPVM specifies that it will make a provisional assessment of this major operation at the end of the afternoon, it was added.
