Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office begins investigation folder for the homicide of 7 people found inside a vehicle

The bodies of seven people were found in a car in the state of Michoacan, less than a week after 11 bodies were located in that same region, authorities reported this Sunday.

The Attorney General of the State of Michoacán (FGE) launched an investigation folder in relation to the murder of seven men, which occurred in the municipality of Hidalgo, “said the local Prosecutor’s Office in a statement.

The agency added that the bodies were located inside a vehicle and that so far they have not been identified.

“The bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service so that the law necropsy is performed and continue with the Investigation work to clarify the facts, “he said.

Just on November 1, the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office said that it had found the bodies of 11 people, including six adolescents, in the municipality of Tangamandapio.

Michoacán is one of the states hardest hit by violence linked to organized crime in Mexico, where the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

On October 18, the attack on a bar in Morelia, the capital of Michoacán, left six people dead and two wounded.

Since December 2006, when the federal government launched a controversial military anti-drug operation, more than 300,000 murders have been recorded in Mexico, according to official figures that attribute most of these cases to fights between criminals.
