Michel Nadeau, a former business journalist who spent several years in senior positions at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, died of cancer.

He was 75 years old.
Nadeau covered business and economics at Le Devoir during the 1970s before moving to the Caisse de dépôt in 1984.
He held various positions of responsibility, including vice president and deputy general manager. Since 2005, Nadeau has headed the Institute for the Governance of Public and Private Organizations (IGOPP).
Nadeau was a promoter and advocate for Quebec’s economy and business, Quebec Prime Minister François Legault said on Twitter.
Brian Myles, editor of Le Devoir, recalled Nadeau as “a great builder and visionary for Quebec Inc.”
Quebec Finance Minister Eric Girard credited Nadeau with developing Quebec’s economy and improving the governance of the province’s institutions.
