Mexico extradites the brother of Osiel Cárdenas Guillén, founder of “Los Zetas”

The Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) reported that he extradited to the United States government Mario Cardenas Guillenalias “Metro 1”, “M1”, “Gordo” or “Señor Gordo”, leader of the Gulf Cartel and accused of being responsible for the large-scale importation of cocaine to Houston, Texas.

The delivery was made on the afternoon of this Tuesday, May 17, at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), to the designated US agents for their transfer to that country.

Mario Cardenas Guillen is brother of Osiel Cardenas Guillenthe founder of “Los Zetas” and imprisoned in the United States, as well as Antonio Ezequiel Cárdenas Guillén, alias “Tony Tormenta”, both leaders of the Gulf Cartel.

It is required by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas for crimes of criminal association and against health.

The Government of Mexico granted the extradition of Mario Cardenas Guillen to the Government of the United States in compliance with the extradition treaty signed between the two countries.
