Mexico adds 296,186 deaths from Covid-19 and 3 million 911,714 confirmed cases

The number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Mexico rose to 296,186 this Thursday, after the Ministry of Health notified 293 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The agency reported 3,180 new coronavirus infections on December 9, to register an accumulated number of 3 million 911,714 confirmed cases in the country.

In the daily technical report it is detailed that 20,241 active cases are estimated at the national level, that is, people who have presented signs and Covid-19 symptoms in the last 14 days.

Meanwhile, health authorities highlighted that 3 million 266,965 people have recovered in the country after suffering from the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Regarding hospital capacity, beds with a ventilator to care for seriously ill patients with Covid-19 register an occupancy of 12%, one percentage point less than that reported yesterday; while the occupancy of general beds remains at 17 percent.

Vaccination against Covid-19 advances

At the cutoff on Wednesday, December 8, the Ministry of Health applied 454,142 vaccines against Covid-19, so the total doses applied increased to 135 million 481,459, since the coronavirus vaccination plan began on December 24, 2020 .

The federal government reported that of the 79 million 202,068 people inoculated, 65 million 630,611 people have a complete scheme of one or two doses, depending on the type of biological applied. Meanwhile, 13 million 571,457 people have a half vaccination scheme.
