Mexico accumulates 3 million 969,686 cases of Covid-19 and 299,285 deaths

The Ministry of Health reported that as of this Thursday, December 30, Mexico accumulates a total of 3 million 969,686 cases of coronavirus and 299,285 deaths.

The data released this Thursday represent 8,024 cases and 153 deaths from Covid-19 more than those reported on Wednesday, December 29, when the previous technical report was published.

The incidence rate of accumulated cases of coronavirus in Mexico is 3,077.9 per 100,000 inhabitants, reported the Ministry of Health in its Daily Technical Report of Covid-19.

Regarding the distribution by sex of the confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the report shows a predominance in women (50.3%) and an average age of 39 years.

The federal agency indicated that the entities that accumulate the most number of Covid-19 cases in Mexico son:

  • Mexico City
  • Mexico state
  • New Lion
  • Guanajuato
  • Jalisco
  • Tabasco
  • Puebla
  • Veracruz
  • Sonora
  • San Luis Potosi

These 10 states together make up 65% of all accumulated cases in the country.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health reported that as of this Wednesday there are 32,221 active cases registered, that is, those positive cases that began with symptoms in the last 14 days.

Vaccination

According to the Ministry of Health, this Wednesday, December 29, 124,867 vaccines against Covid-19 were applied, with which in total 148 million 814,260 vaccines have been supplied in the 32 states since December 24, 2020.

In Mexico, 81 million 915,851 people have been immunized with at least one dose against Covid-19, reports the Daily Technical Report. Of that total, 72 million 751,888 have completed the vaccination schedule and 9 million 163,963 have a dose.
