Mexico accumulates 3 million 956,372 cases of Covid-19 and 298,944 deaths

The Ministry of Health reported that as of this Tuesday, December 28, Mexico accumulates a total of 3 million 956,372 cases of coronavirus and 298,944 deaths.

The data released this Tuesday represents 4,426 cases and 125 deaths from Covid-19 more than those reported on Monday, December 27, when the previous technical report was published.

The incidence rate of accumulated cases of coronavirus in Mexico is 3,067.2 per 100,000 inhabitants, reported the Ministry of Health in its Daily Technical Report of Covid-19.

Regarding the distribution by sex of the confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the report shows a predominance in women (50.2%) and an average age of 39 years.

The federal agency indicated that the entities that accumulate the most number of Covid-19 cases in Mexico are:

  • Mexico City
  • Mexico state
  • New Lion
  • Guanajuato
  • Jalisco
  • Tabasco
  • Puebla
  • Veracruz
  • Sonora
  • San Luis Potosi

These 10 states together make up 65% of all accumulated cases in the country.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health reported that 21,262 active cases have been registered as of this Sunday, that is, those positive cases that began with symptoms in the last 14 days.


According to the Ministry of Health, from December 24, 2020 to this date, 148 million 562,902 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 have been supplied in the 32 states. In Mexico, 81 million 915,015 people have the vaccine; 72 million 711, 671 have a complete scheme, which is equivalent to 89%, and 9 million 203,344 received the first dose and correspond to 11 percent.
