TORONTO – Auston Matthews scored at 2:32 in overtime when the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Friday night.

William Nylander added a goal and an assist for Toronto (9-5-1). Jack Campbell made 30 saves for the Leafs, who have won seven of their last eight.

Oliver Kylington scored for Calgary (7-3-4). Dan Vladar made 35 saves for the Flames, who have lost three in a row (0-2-1).

Vlader stopped Matthews on a breakaway and Mitch Marner on a follow-up opportunity in overtime before Campbell slammed the door in a frenzy in the Toronto finale.

But Matthews got another chance on his next shift and beat Vladar between the pads for his sixth goal of the season.
