Massage therapist accused of sexual assault: Five new victims come forward

A 65-year-old massage therapist from Montérégie pinned last December for sexual assault on some of his clients was arrested again on Thursday after five new victims came forward.

Yvon Poirier, who practiced his trade at his residence on Highfield Street in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, is suspected of being a serial sexual abuser.

He allegedly assaulted several victims in his residence, which housed his Le Pain de Sucre massage therapy clinic.

Poirier appeared Thursday by videoconference at the Saint-Hyacinthe courthouse, where five new counts of sexual assault were brought against him.

This would therefore bring the number of alleged victims of this massage therapist to seven.

The facts of which he is accused would have occurred over nearly two decades, between 2002 and 2021.

Yvon Poirier has already worked as a real estate broker. According to the authorities, he had a brokerage office in the Saint-Hubert sector and carried out his work on the South Shore of Montreal.

The investigation tends to show that he could have made more victims.
